BETWEEN THE COVERS

Between the Covers is an exhibition charting the evolution of women's magazines from the 17th century to the present day, showcasing some of the most influential and innovative titles and telling the stories behind their success.

We were asked to design the exhibition itself, along with posters, adverts and programme.

For the poster we commissioned Jo Metson Scott to shoot three women reading magazines in a salon. We created a bespoke typeface for the title, which was then used in and around the exhibition too.

BtC invite detail

A UV varnish was applied over the logo on the invites, left.

The typeface we developed was used throughout the exhibition, right, in four colours to segment the space and content. We panelled the dark brick walls in white, and applied text and paint to these as if a blank 'page'. Additional lighting also helped brighten the space.
